LEFT INSIDE: A Secret Store

Another unusual handmade bookplate.  Can't remember the name of the book I found it in.  It's hand drawn in ink.  I see initials in the lower corners: H.G.  Haven't a clue what they stand for. For some reason this reminds me of Pennsylvania Dutch or Amish artwork.

  1. In a perfect world, finding that (obviously coded) bookplate would throw you in an adventure that involves a murderer of a decades old, unsolved and seemingly impossible, murder on your tail, retired Cold War spies and duels by moonlight - culmunating in a nailbiting showdown at a rundown fun fair somewhere in Eastern Europe.

    1. I think you're on to something! "Distelfink" is probably a keyword for the code.

  2. And I thought it was just a charming distinctive bookplate.

  3. I used to make them for my books when I was a kid. My brother routinely crossed out my name and wrote in his even though to my knowledge, he never read a one of them.
