One of the delights of writing these articles on forgotten writers and their work is the occasional fortuitous meeting (if only a digital meeting) of the writer's relatives. Appreciate these tidbits on your father! He was a great story teller, written and orally. He was quite the cocktail party charmer back in the day. He grew up and spent much of his life as a newspaper man. If you're ever in the neighborhood, Boston University Library has a portion of his work in their archives.
Enjoy!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00304449085107497788noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8787364257168822822.post-60202523656975241302015-06-23T03:00:07.354-05:002015-06-23T03:00:07.354-05:00Just ordered it - thanks John. My idea of least likely suspect in this book is not going to be everyone's idea. l would think to most people this *entire post* is a "massive spoiler" and I think that's why a lot of people no longer visit my blog. My approach is to pull out the most interesting points to entice you to read the book ---if it's worth reading. If it's not worth reading I have no problem giving away all the supposed surprises and twists. But Scarecrow is definitely worth reading and there's plenty to the plot that has not been spoiled.J F Norrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06473487417479127354noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8787364257168822822.post-16485425055242176792015-06-20T15:13:31.444-05:002015-06-20T15:13:31.444-05:00I've never heard of this author, but obviously...I've never heard of this author, but obviously should've. I'm dreaming, I know. I do like the 'least likely person' school of murder mysteries. Don't know about the mixing of genres here, I'm not big on noir, but if you liked it, I might too.Yvettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08919246184376538331noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8787364257168822822.post-5396902916332423652015-06-19T11:58:48.172-05:002015-06-19T11:58:48.172-05:00This mixing of Noir and GAD really appeals to me J...This mixing of Noir and GAD really appeals to me John - thanks chumm shall be scouring the interweb for copies very shortly.
