On the strength and enjoyment of reading this novel I bought (I think) three others. More than one, I know. I have them stowed in a box somewhere… Of course still unread. I read a few early 20th century American novels from the same era over the summer. They’re in my backlog of reviews to post this month. Trying to get three per week posted in October. It was fun to read. Thrillerish with amateur and professional detectives and a "writer of sensational fiction" among the characters. Well...almost. I was taken aback by a rather callous last minute murder. But Hill is very modern for 1915 in that regard.
