Luckily, I also love tracking down an elusive bargain. I'll add it to the long list I take with me to old bookshops (okay, it's actually a BOOK rather than a list).Kelly Robinsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01752857506190488860noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8787364257168822822.post-36617710416619308602015-01-10T12:20:21.003-06:002015-01-10T12:20:21.003-06:00I think more than a few academic heads rolled over...I think more than a few academic heads rolled over the showing of that movie.Tim Mayerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16191899859528990414noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8787364257168822822.post-37387638503912101792015-01-07T11:31:04.551-06:002015-01-07T11:31:04.551-06:00When I was in 5th grade a very creepy guidance cou...When I was in 5th grade a very creepy guidance counselor read "The Most Dangerous Game" to our class. I was freaked out! What is it about certain types of teachers and their need to instill fear in their students? I bet a lot of kids saw that movie of "The Lottery" back in the 60s and 70s. I did. I think I was in 7th grade, too. I remember it being a junior high English class. Never have forgotten it. The image of the woman handing a rock to the boy who will then take it and stone his own mother is forever engrained on my memory.J F Norrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06473487417479127354noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8787364257168822822.post-87557131464812245112015-01-06T20:16:37.888-06:002015-01-06T20:16:37.888-06:00Congrats on finishing the challenge. Don't think you could get away with it today. But this was the same school who were I saw a 16mm print of "The Lottery".Tim Mayerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16191899859528990414noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8787364257168822822.post-24999226490417928732015-01-03T18:09:07.740-06:002015-01-03T18:09:07.740-06:00That's right, taunt us with a terrific soundin...That's right, taunt us with a terrific sounding book that is so darn hard to get. I would love to read this, John. Well, we'll see if I somehow stumble across a copy one of these days. I have a feeling that this year is going to be a very vintage reading year. I'm just in that sort of mood. :)Yvettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08919246184376538331noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8787364257168822822.post-90937874748468084372015-01-03T15:41:06.166-06:002015-01-03T15:41:06.166-06:00Yet another book that begs for a reprint.
