It sat on my bookshelf for 8 or 9 years before I got around to reading it. Loved it. This and It Happened in Boston are two of my favorite novels. Whenever the topic of books comes up in a conversation I mention Greenan. I don't know why he doesn't have a larger following.<br />Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16864613040548287493noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8787364257168822822.post-50660347415796370502012-05-18T03:40:55.788-05:002012-05-18T03:40:55.788-05:00My copy of BOSTON just arrived yesterday in a fair...My copy of BOSTON just arrived yesterday in a fairly nice hardback so am really looking forward to delving in - thanks John, as always!Sergio (Tipping My Fedora)http://bloodymurder.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8787364257168822822.post-26003250286814224002012-05-15T17:12:43.279-05:002012-05-15T17:12:43.279-05:00I'm not really ever enthusiastic about books w...I'm not really ever enthusiastic about books where the main character is a small time (or even a bit time) crook or gets sucked in by greed and whatnot into becoming a crook. Ah well. My tastes in crime fiction do tend to run to the thoroughly weird and offbeat. I'm learning that most people shy away from the "strange" books. Their loss. Glad I tempted at least one reader. Just finished THE QUEEN OF AMERICA by Greenan and it too has some odd moments but it's much darker and bleaker in tone than this one.J F Norrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06473487417479127354noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8787364257168822822.post-78385412286606592212012-05-14T16:54:59.261-05:002012-05-14T16:54:59.261-05:00Another delectable and way too enticing review Joh...Another delectable and way too enticing review John - In fact, I've just ordered IT HAPPENED IN BOSTON - cheers mate (my brain thanks you while my wallet reels)Sergio (Tipping My Fedora)http://bloodymurder.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.com
